These tools can be coded so that users without the required browser or plugin capabilities still seemlessly experience a functional service, so the maximum number of clients can have the maximum experience.

The software is usually written in a LAMP solution stack. This formula is tried and tested in countless websites and databases around the world. This means that such a database/web solution is not a leap into the unknown. It does not tie you to a single company, and does not expose you to the risk of having a sole provider of future software support.
